Jim Staton is a performing guitarist currently residing in the Rio Grande Valley of Deep South Texas. His musical roots run deep beginning with early performances with Dorsey Finney's School Band in Fairfax, Oklahoma. In 1960 Jim performed with the Rhythm Rockers Band. From 1967 - 1969 he was a member of The Chaparrals performing at the Caprock in Hobbs, NM and The Highway House Motel in Roswell, NM.
Throughout the '70s and '80s, Jim performed with The Starlighters at the Gold Nugget in Las Vegas, Nevada, Country Bridge Band, The Jim Staton Show Group, The Stan Gunn Show Band, Tony Best Trio and The Sunshine Playboys.
Currently Jim Staton performs in the Rio Grande Valley in a variety of venues including regular appearances at Don-Wes Fleamarket in Donna, Texas. You will also find Jim performing in many of the Winter Texan RV and Mobile Home resorts across the Valley.
